    OldRoachCemetery

Old Roach Cemetery is one of the oldest cemeteries I’ve run across in my travels. There are so many cool tombstones here I am going to break it into two posts.

These two graves are among the oldest.

Yeah, that says born 1789. A Christmas baby no less. And that isn’t even the oldest grave. There are several with no visible birth date or death dates left on their surfaces. If you’d like to see the full listing of burials, you can check it out here http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gsr&GSsr=1&GScid=1705991&

The oldest birth date I found listed was 1780. SEVENTEEN EIGHTY!

    That boggles my brain.

I’m not sure what this particular shape or the one behind it meant if anything, but the marking were long worn away.

Lots of handshake symbol stones in this cemetery too.

I found a few I hadn’t noticed before that can also be found in Old Roach Cemetery. Here is what the symbols mean according to Grave Addiction.

A Bible and a hand pointing downward. (The hand of God descending from heaven.)

    Another handshake stone.

    A rose/flower stone. (Symbolizes beauty.

This is only a sampling of the amazing old graves in this cemetery. Come back next Monday for a few more.

I’ll keep prowling graveyards and bringing you interesting bits from The Reaper Series if you’ll keep visiting.

    Reap & Repent

Reap & Repent final revised (647x1024)They see death. Can they share a life?

Ruth Scott can read the energy of every person she meets. Then she meets Deacon Walker. She can see his ice-blue eyes, his black hair, and his gorgeous face. But this beautiful stranger has no aura.

Deacon is just as unsettled by Ruth—and, having spent more than two hundred years ushering souls to Purgatory, Deacon is seldom shocked by anything. As he helps Ruth to understand her true nature, she awakens desires that he decided long ago a Reaper can’t afford.

A demon invasion forces Deacon to confront the darkness in his own past even as he fights to save the human souls he’s charged to protect. When he’s taken captive, his first concern is for Ruth. But Ruth just might be able to save herself—and the Reaper she can’t live without—if she can learn to wield her newfound powers.
